This is a picture of my self portrait project. This project was fun but it also took a lot of time. For this project I used many elements of art.

 

The biggest element I used in this project is contrast. Using contrast was a big part in this project because to get the detail in the carving you had to use big and small lino cutters and the ink on the portrait is black and white.

 

Secondly I used balance. I needed to balance out the colors between my lines.

 

Lastly I used space with the balance in my colors i also needed to provided negative and positive space. The black is the positive space, what brought more color into the project. The white is the negative, the space that doesn't matter.

In my opinion, I liked this project I think mine turned out good and I used most of the important elements in my work.
